Why should I choose a guest house in Maldives?
Staying in guest houses in the Maldives is the perfect solution for those dreaming of an affordable vacation in this wonderful tropical archipelago.
They usually are located in convenient locations in small islands were the local community live, so you can get in touch with local culture. This will give you an authentic maldivian experience, rather than the wonderful (but less authetic) all inclusive resort kind of holidays.
I also chose a guest house vacation in the Maldives a few years ago, during one of my solo trips. It was a relaxing experience, in a time when I really needed some time by myself.
I enjoyed the beautiful pristine waters and white sand, did some walking, snorkeling, some hiking, and worked with the hotel’s wi-fi.
I would recommend to stay in a guest house in Maldives for about a week (detox, resting, snorkeling, diving and beach life) regardless of whether you are traveling alone or with family, partner or friends.
Keep in mind that in Maldives you will find 2 different beaches: local beaches (no bikini allowed) and bikini beaches, suited for tourists and where bikini is allowed.
Also, given that Maldives are a muslim country, no alcohol is allowed in the islands where the guestouses are (only in the resorts)!
