When I think of a relaxing vacation, the first thing that comes to mind is a trip to the spa to recharge. I’ve visited many thermal baths during my travels, and I always enjoy discovering the most original and unique ones.
Today, I’ve selected 10 of the best thermal baths and spas in Europe, ranging from the largest and most beautiful to the more intimate and family-friendly ones. I’ll share where they are, how to get there, their prices, and what to expect.

Blue Lagoon – Iceland
Location: About 50 km from Reykjavík and only 20 minutes from Keflavik Airport.
Prices: Basic tickets start at €70+ depending on the season and include:
Adult entrance

The first impression is striking: vast stretches of steaming, bright-blue water that look almost unreal and incredibly inviting, especially in the cold. To me, it’s one of the most beautiful spas in Europe, located in one of the continent’s most stunning natural settings.
The water, rich in silica and minerals, stays around 39°C and has numerous benefits for the skin.
Perfect for couples and solo travelers. Children over 2 are welcome, and entry is free up to age 13.

Set in the Austrian Alps near the Italian border, Aqua Dome features 12 indoor and outdoor pools, some suspended with mountain views. Water temperature ranges from 34–36°C year-round. There’s also a family area and panoramic saunas.

Therme Bucharest – Romania
Location: Bucharest, just 10 minutes from the airport
Prices: Vary based on stay duration and access areas. €45 includes 4.5 hours and round-trip transfer.

Among the largest spas in Europe, and one of my favorites. It’s a tropical oasis with over 1,500 palm trees. Divided into three zones: a large pool with swim-up bar and hot tubs, a family area with water slides, and a sauna zone (one sauna even has an indoor cinema!).

RIN Airport Hotel: 4-star with wellness center nearby.
Therme Erding – Munich, Germany
Location: Just 12 minutes from Munich Airport and about 40 minutes from the city center.

The world’s largest spa complex, this wellness village features 27+ saunas, tropical pools, massive slides, and themed events. Note: Saunas are used without swimsuits!Dogs are welcome too! On the first Tuesday of each month, they can swim in the thermal pools.

A masterpiece of wellness and architecture by Peter Zumthor, made from local quartzite stone. The peaceful, dimly lit environment is designed to promote deep relaxation.
