You can choose among luxury hotels, private villa, budget accommodation or apartments. Be mindful, though: it is very important to book on advance because Capri can be very crowded, especially in high season, and it can be quite pricey too!

The best areas to stay in Capri

• Marina Grande – Good place to stay next to the port, with many attractions.
• Capri Town – Center of Capri, perfect place for shopping, restaurants and nightlife.
• Marina Piccola – Great location if you are looking for a luxury holiday.
• Anacapri – Best area for a medium budget stay.

Marina Grande

Marina Grande is the first place youl’ll see once you get off the ferry that will take you to Capri, from Naples of from Sorrento

​It is a great place to stay if you don’t plan to rent a car, since you will have everything at a short walk distance. 

In Marina Grande, you will also have the largest beach of Capri, called Spiaggia di Marina Grande, which is located right next to the port.

​Besides this beach, there is also a smaller one, Spiaggia di Bagni Tiberio.

If you want to enjoy beautiful panoramic views of Capri, make sure to climb famous Scala Fenicia, a stair of 921 steps that will take you from Marina Grande to the center of Anacapri.

Capri town

The main village of Capri, where you will find a lot of boutiques, luxury shops, bars and high end restaurants. This is also the area you want to be if you like to have a drink or some nightlife with music and fun.

Here the is one of the most popular places in Capri, called La Piazzetta (officially Piazza Umberto), which is the main square of Capri, where most of bars and fantastic restaurants are located. For shopping, instead, you need to stroll down popular Via Camerelle.

If you don’t have a car, this is a great place to stay, since it’s well connected with the rest of the island by buses.

Attractions you can’t miss in Capri town:

-Villa Jovis – palace built by Emperor Tiberio, where you can still admire ancient roman ruins

-Giardini di Augusto – scenic beautiful garden with amazing view over Capri

-Certosa San Giacomo Capri – beautiful church and oldest historical building in Capri

Finally, Capri is home to many famous grottos. The most accessible from Capri town are Natural arch, grotta rossa and grotta bianca.

Marina Piccola

Capri is famous for being one of the favorite destinations for celebrities and rich people, coming here with their huge and amazing yachts. That’s why this is the place to be to see and be seen!

One of the most exclusive parts of the island is the small port of Marina Piccola, in the southwest of Capri. Here you will find a lot of luxury hotels, fancy restaurants and bars and of course, expect the prices to be a bit higher than the rest of the island. 

From the beaches of Marina Piccola and Torre Saracena beach, you can have a wonderful view over famous faraglioni rocks.

Anacapri

Anacapri is a less crowded area, where most of the local people of Capri live. Usually it also offers some cheaper accommodations and b&b, where you can stay with a lower budget than the rest of the island. In Anacapri there is the highest pick of the island, Mount Solaro, where you can admire one of the best views over the island.

In the center, which is one of the main towns of Capri, you will find some attractions such as Museo Casa Rossa, San Michele Curch, Villa San Michele and the famous Blue Grotto is reachable from here.

Anacapri is also the right place to be if you like outdoor activities such as trekking and hiking. There is, for example, a beautiful hike in a path called Sentiero dei fortini borbonici.

The best beaches in Anacapri are Gradola and Faro di Punta Carena.

The closest airport to reach Capri is the Napoli Capodichino Airport, in the city of Naples.

It takes 15 minutes to get from the airport to the Molo Beverello, the port where the ferries to Capri leave. The ride is almosta 1 hour.

At Hotel Cristallo in Alta Badia, you can enjoy both.

My first time in Alta Badia was when I was about one year and a half, with my parents. And over the years the memory of this holiday “in the north”, has always been alive with anecdotes that mom and dad told me.
So when I had the chance to spend a little holiday in Alta Badia, I immediately thought of bringing my dad (excited) with me.

Hotel Cristallo in Alta Badia

Hotel Cristallo is located in La Villa (BZ), Italy. About a 10 minute drive you can reach the center of Corvara and La Villa.
But the best thing is to move along the many paths in the outdoors. On foot, Corvara is 40 minutes from the Hotel Cristallo, while La Villa is 50 minutes of very pleasant walk.
The hotel can be seen immediately from the street. It is located in a valley, and behind it there are the beautiful Dolomites.

The Restaurant

The main skill of a good chef, in my opinion, is in being able to prepare tasty and beautiful dishes to look at, even with simple ingredients. And that’s what surprised me the most in the restaurant of Hotel Cristallo.
I ate dinner there every day and every day was a surprise.
Dishes of incredible creativity made with simple foods like potatoes,mushrooms and vegetables.

The soups, which usually does not excite me, here were creamy and smell delicious. And the Tomino on  potatoes pie remains still dream now.

Not to mention the original buffet of vegetables and appetizers, varied and plentiful and the selection of cakes.

The wellness area

Is there anything more relaxing than returning to the hotel after a day of walking through the woods or better to climb the mountains? Yes there is.

Coming back to the hotel and find a wellness area where you can be pampered.

At Hotel Cristallo spa area consists of a beautiful heated indoor pool with garden view, a Jacuzzi and sauna area.

You can also enjoy many types of treatments and massages extra, in an environment that already get you into wellness mode.
And for those who want to excercise even on vacation, the hotel also has a small gym.

Rooms

This is the part of the hotel where reality becomes a dream.

Imagine my face when I entered the Suite Dolomites and I found myself in front of 49mq room, divided into 3 environments.
Room, bedroom, with  huge walk-in closet, living room with sofa and TV, bathroom with shower room, and areas with sinks and bathtub Empire style. I felt a real princess.

All in wood, to give the room classical relaxing atmosphere “mountain home” and that typical smell, which I really like.
And, that’s incredible, a beautiful electric fireplace, to light in winter to complete the perfect atmosphere.
Outside a large balcony overlooking the hotel garden and the Dolomites. Like waking up with a smile on his face.
Such a nice room that I could not wait to go back.

You can reach Hotel Cristallo in Alta Badia by car or by train and bus.
I’ve arrived from Parma in about 4 hours by car, but you can easily get there by train and bus or plane.
