1 Rimske Terme
One of the oldest hot springs in Slovenia, so much so that they were known already in roman times and appreciated by ancient romans.

In fact, the word “rimske terme” means precisely “Roman baths” in Slovenian.
The complex of these beautiful baths is very unique (one of the most beautiful spa complexes I have seen so far) with a large indoor pool surrounded by columns and niches where you can lie down and relax.
The indoor pool has a water temperature of 32 degrees and is connected by a panoramic outdoor thermal pool with mountain views.
There are also smaller indoor and outdoor hot tubs.
TIP: Although going to the thermal spa is enjoyable all day long, I recommend going when the sun goes down and they are lit up-the effect is very beautiful!
In addition to the pool area you will find at Rimske Terme a sauna and steam baths area (with different types for both) plus wellness area for massages and wellness rituals.

Where Lasko spa is located
The Lasko thermal baths are located in the Thermana Lasko complex, which stands along the Savinja River, surrounded by hills and forests. The spa facilities can be recognized by the large dome above the spa, which at 2200sqm is one of the largest thermal spas in Slovenia.
In the spa, you’re spoiled for choice: from large pools with water slides and waves, making it suitable for families with children, to whirlpools, to the large sauna/turkish bath area (which, however, is not accessible to toddlers), soothing massage and other wellness treatments.

Where to sleep near the Lasko spa
To get direct access to the Lasko thermal baths I recommend sleeping at the 4-star superior hotel Thermana Park Lasko, a modern and cozy facility overlooking the Savinja River.
The hotel is very large and has a café bar for snacks and aperitifs, plus two restaurants: one a la carte and one buffet. For added convenience you can choose half-board or full-board options.

3 Catez therma baths
Among the best slovenian spas, you should not miss Terme Catez, which at 12000sqm is the largest spa in the country.
In fact, the complex boasts the largest number of thermal pools in Slovenia, including indoor and outdoor pools, and is in fact a kind of water park, with a winter and a summer version.
Here you will in fact find the wellness area, wave pools, those where you can surf, the lazy river, slides, and even an amusement park.
The thermal springs of Catez have been known since the early 19th century and appreciated for their healing properties.

Where the Catez hot springs are located
The original thermal springs are located in Catez, near the town of Brežice, on the border with Croatia, in the Lower Sava region. All around expands a beautiful green area made of hills and protected to the north by mountains.

Where to sleep near the Catez spa
If you want to spend a few days relaxing at the Catez spa, you will definitely be spoiled for choice when it comes to accommodations. The most convenient accommodation, however, is the Hotel Terme, which is located right inside the spa complex and to which it provides access, included in the price of the room.
In addition to the spa, pools and wellness center, you will also find a casino, various restaurants and stores in the complex.

4 Where to go to the spa in Bled
Another great place to go to a spa in Slovenia is the Bled area, where the lake of the same name is located. In fact, hot-temperature thermal waters gush out in some places (if you ask someone local, they will probably also know where to find them).
In order to enjoy the properties of the beneficial waters, however, the most convenient way is to visit hotel spas in the area such as Rikli Balance and Hotel Park.

Where to stay near the Bled spa
Hotel Rikli Balance
A 4-star superior hotel with a lake view built in line with the principles of Swiss naturopath Rikli, who moved to the area 200 years ago and studied its health-promoting properties.
The rooms are cozy and elegant, with a wonderful view of Lake Bled.
Hotel Park
Also in the same chain as Rikli Balance, this hotel overlooks Lake Bled on one side and the Julian Alps on the other. Here you will find a spa, gym, rooftop terrace and lake-view rooms.
TIP: At the Park Hotel’s pastry shop, don’t miss one of the best desserts in Slovenia for me: the Bled cake with puff pastry, cream and custard.
5 Olimia thermal spa
Another of the most beautiful spa destinations in Slovenia is Terme Olimia, which not surprisingly has been awarded several times for the quality of its wellness center.
The spa has a relaxation and wellness area, a sauna department, and a children’s area with slides and various attractions.

Where the Olimia spa is located
Olimia Spa is on the border between Slovenia and Croatia, surrounded by green hills on the banks of the Sotla River.

Friday and Saturday: 8-24

Where to sleep near the Olimia therma baths
To sleep inside the Olimia spa, I recommend the elegant 4-star superior Wellness Hotel Sotelia. Surrounded by forest and hills, the hotel is built with respect for nature, adapting to its surroundings.

6 Portoroz thermal spas
If you’re looking for a location to go to a spa in Slovenia near the Italian border, the most convenient are definitely the spas of Portoroz.
Its water has beneficial effect due to the concentration of seawater, minerals, mud from nearby salt pans, and the area’s Mediterranean climate.
Where the Portorož Spa is located
The Portorož spa is located in the seaside town of Portorose, a popular destination on the adriatic sea, about 35 km from Trieste.
The main spas in Portoroz consist of the LifeClass Portoroz Spa & Wellness with the Thalasso Center, Ayurveda Center, Wai Thai wellness temple, and Sauna Park.
Most hotels in Portorož however have pools and wellness centers with thermal water.

Where to stay in Portoroz, health resorts with spa
Finding a hotel where you can sleep near the Portorož spa will not be difficult, as the offer is really wide. My advice is to choose a property that has an agreement with the Portorož spa in order to have access to the spa complex and take advantage of promotional offers and packages.
Hotels Slovenija
If you want to enjoy a luxury vacation (while also taking advantage of favorable hotel prices), I recommend the 5-star Hotel Slovenija, with a sea view and modern designed rooms.
Hotel Portoroz 4 Superior
Another good alternative that will allow you to comfortably enjoy the Portoroz spa is the 4*superior Hotel Portoroz. Also stylish and sea-view, with an excellent Mediterranean cuisine restaurant and private beach.
7 Terme Dolenjske Toplice
One of the oldest spas in Slovenia is Terme Dolenjske Toplice, known as early as the 13th century and later becoming a favorite spa of the Austro-Hungarian crown. The water flows from the spring at a depth of almost 1,000 meters at 36 degrees and is particularly beneficial for treating skin, the locomotor system, and rheumatic diseases.
Where to find the Dolenjske Toplice spa
Dolenjske Toplice Spa is located in the Dolenjska region, about 1 hour from Ljubljana. The location is particularly picturesque, surrounded by greenery and forests.

Where to sleep near the thermal baths in Dolenjske Toplice
To sleep near the spa, I recommend Hotel Balnea, an elegant design hotel with decorations by Slovenian artists and surrounded by greenery. The spa is within walking distance via a scenic corridor.
